"Mommy and Me" Project Sage Horse Rescue is
starting a new program at our new farm in Northport. We are looking for horse lovers 16 and older that want to come
to the farm and spend time one on one with a rescue horse. You will be assigned one horse to work with and spend time
with. Each horse will have two "Mommy's". We have many horses that need TLC and this program gives the
horses a chance to have a one-on-one relationship with someone until they are adopted. Your responsibility will be working
on ground manners, grooming, and riding. You will be responsible for the over all care of the horse. We always
have older retired horses that just need to be pampered. All applicants MUST be experienced with horses. References
will be checked and there is a short interview process. This is a great program for people who are looking to help the
rescue horses become more adoptable.
Become a Life Line There are
many horses at Project Sage that need to stay with us a bit longer then others. They need rehabilitation and more time
to heal. You can help with these horses by becoming a "Life Line". For just a $1 a day you can become
a "Life Line" for the horse of your choice. At the end of the month you send in your donation and I will send
you an updated picture of your horse! Please help a horse in need! E-mail me at projectsagehorserescue@gmail.com
and tell me which horse you would like to become a "Life Line" for. The horses can use as many Life Line's
as possible! The funds will be put towards vet bills, farrier work, medications, hay, grain, etc. All Life Line donations can be sent to: Brittany Rostron 63

Cody's Fund On January
2nd my horse, Cody, crossed the rainbow bridge. I want to thank everyone who has supported us through this difficult
time. Cody was my best friend and partner for many years and was always there for me when I needed him. Sage gave
me my inspiration to start Project Sage and I want to keep Cody's memory alive in a similar way. I am initiating "Cody's
Fund" to help young horses in need. This fund will be used for young horses who are slaughter bound.
Everyday I see horses under the age of 6 being sent to slaughter. These horses are young and sound and deserve a second
chance at life. When "Cody's Fund" gathers enough donations we will pull a young horse from the slaughter
pen. We need approximately $500 to help a young horse in need. With this fund you can send as little as a dollar
and it will be put towards rescuing a young horse from the slaughter pen. I know everyone has a few spare dollar bills
laying around. Why not donate them to Cody's Fund and help a young horse in need? I hope every single person
who reads this will send a donation in honor of Cody even if it is $1. When sending in your donation for this fund please
mark it for "Cody's Fund".
Sponsor a Horse Do you want to save your own horse but
don't have the time or property? You can make a life saving donation to Project Sage and you can name the horse
we rescue with your donation. I will also send you updates on your horse and your name will be listed on our site as
the horses sponsor. The horses we rescue vary in price but on average we pay $400 per horse. A school, business,
or individual can sponsor a horse. If you would like to be a part of our sponsorship program please contact Sportie1030@aol.com
The Sage Fund The Sage Fund is designed for
people who would like to donate directly to horses on the feed lot. I started The Sage Fund in memory of Sage,
my rescue horse who past away 3 years ago. We usually go to the feed lot once or twice a month and we can't
go with out donations from our supporters. All donations sent to The Sage Fund will be used for the initial costs of
the horses. This is the last chance for all of these horses. They are shipped to slaughter on Sundays. Your
donation will literally save the life of a horse. You can also make a donation in memory of a horse and we will put
it towards the feed lot horses.
Chinese Auction Twice a year we hold a large
Chinese Auction to help raise funds for the horses. We are always looking for items to be donated to the auction.
We collect gift certificates, items, and samples. If you are interested in donating a new item please contact me.
Volunteers We are always looking for volunteers
who are willing to come out and groom, muck stalls, scrub water bucks, etc. If you are interested in volunteering for
Project Sage you can contact me at Sportie1030@aol.com. Any student who is in need of community service I can write you a letter after you volunteer.
SHOW Program Project Sage Horse Rescue is now joined up with
Triple Crown and Southern States horse feed! We have signed up for the SHOW program! The
SHOW program is basically collecting the "Proof of Purchase" (bar code) on the back of your Triple Crown, Legends,
or Reliance grain! All you have to do it cut them out and mail them to Project Sage and we recieve money for every one
we send in! PLEASE, if you feed these types of grains take a minute and cut out the proof of purchases
on the bags! If you board your horse please talk to the barn owner about what type of feed they are using. It
only takes a minute to do this and it will really help the rescue horses. If you would like to
help by donating your proof of puchases to Project Sage Horse Rescue please e-mail Sportie1030@aol.com
